Special commemorative cover for the 2008 reunion of India's 1983 Cricket World Cup team at Lord's. On 25th June 1983 Indian cricket came to the attention of the world. They beat the mighty West Indian team at Lord's Cricket Ground. It is also the subject of special news programme filmed at Lord's.
For the 40-1 outsiders this was an historic moment. It was a turning point for India to become a cricket superpower.
Images from 1983 have been used to create this cover. On the stamp Srikkanth drives Roberts for four on his way to score 38, the highest of the world cup final. The limited edition stamp has been cacheted for reunion day 25th June 2008. 25 years to the day of this historic victory.
