Historic first day cover that tells a special story.
It symbolises two of the most significant tools used by artists, the paintbrush and the pixel. The pixel being the way pictures are presented on a computer.
Beneath the stamps can be see a computer mouse with its cable leading off to the rear. On the rear of the cover it links four people who played an important role at Bletchley Park in developing modern computer technology. The front images are digital photography whilst the rear are pen and ink drawings. Together they represent the latest and the earliest methods of portraiture.
A simple but very effective design that combines history with art.
